The best video projects aren't just about hiring someone to show up and film. They're creative partnerships built on trust, clarity, and shared purpose. But knowing how to build that kind of partnership — and what to expect throughout the process — can be the difference between a transactional project and work that actually moves the needle. In this episode, Karen walks us through what it really means to partner with a production team, from strategy and planning to post-production and repurposing, so you can approach video work with confidence and intention.

When you're working with an expert production team, you should expect them to ask you hard questions — particularly upfront in the planning stages. Those difficult questions aren't obstacles; they're what lead to a better final product. But knowing what to look for in a production partner and how to navigate the process can make all the difference between simply checking a box and creating work that truly resonates.

In this episode, Karen breaks down how to approach video production with clarity and purpose. Drawing insights from Render Studios' approach to partnering with clients, we explore the importance of starting with strategy first, understanding the different skill sets involved in production, and building trust throughout the process. Tune in as we demystify the production process and how to find the right creative partner to maximize the value of your investment.

Chai White Russian

Chai White Russian

Vodka
A creamy iced coffee cocktail for the Speak Easy podcast served in a short glass over ice, sitting on a wooden surface with scattered coffee beans and a gold bar spoon nearby.
The Chai White Russian is a cozy twist on the beloved classic that swaps out plain cream for a blend of cream and chai tea concentrate. The chai adds layers of cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and clove that play beautifully against the coffee liqueur's rich sweetness, while vodka keeps everything smooth and balanced. Cream (or your preferred milk substitute) rounds out the drink with a silky texture that makes it feel indulgent without being heavy. Stirred over a large ice cube in a lowball glass, it's the kind of drink that works equally well as a dessert cocktail or a cozy nightcap.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur (see notes for a homemade recipe)
  • 1 oz cream (half & half, heavy cream, or your favorite milk substitute also works)
  • 1 oz chai tea concentrate

Preparation

  1. Add a large ice cube to a lowball glass.
  2. Pour in the vodka, coffee liqueur, cream, and chai concentrate.
  3. Stir to combine.
