Wanderlust, Our Wildest Dreams, and Why We Do What We Do
Have you ever wanted to live in a van or on a sailboat? Or have you thought about moving to the Colorado mountains and living off the land? This week, Jen and Karen discuss the lives they might have lived, their biggest dreams and the importance of asking yourself why you made the choices that you did.

These days, a lot of us find ourselves drifting off in thought and reevaluating our past decisions. The global pandemic has taken away a lot of the physical tethers that we have to where we live, such as needing to go into our offices. With work from home being the new norm, it's not only interesting but healthy to question our decisions and why we do what we do.

This week, we talk about our own life choices; we break down everything from the career paths we almost took to the ones we still haven't ruled out, and even chat about what we want to do after retirement. If you've ever felt like living in a van and traveling the world, this episode is for you.

Listen in as we discuss balancing our wanderlust into our real lives and why we think it's important to question what we do, where we are, and why.

This week, pour one out for the Speak Easy Podcast's third birthday! That's right - we've been recording this podcast for three years now. This week's cocktail is none other than the famous Birthday Cake Shot. Quick to make, and quicker to drink. We grabbed our favorite bottle of American Fifth Vodka to kick off our celebration. Mix with Frangelico, rim your shot glass with sugar and garnish with a lemon wedge. Happy birthday to us.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 oz. American Fifth Vodka
  • 3/4 oz. Frangelico Liqueur
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • A fresh lemon wedge

Preparation

  1. Wet the rim of each shot glass with water and dip into a plate of sugar.
  2. Fill each shot glass half-full with American Fifth vodka, and fill the other half with Frangelico Liqueur.
  3. Add a lemon wedge to the top, to garnish and to add flavor after you've taken your shot.
