Monique Stanton, President and CEO of the Michigan League for Public Policy (MLPP), is committed to social justice, advancing equity in Michigan, and promoting the well-being of our communities. She has dedicated much of her career to public advocacy and improving the lives and circumstances of those facing tremendous barriers. With inequities increasing due to COVID-19, Monique’s work is more important than ever.
She joins us this week to talk about the pressing issues Michiganders face, advancing equity in an age of polarization, and why MLPP is her dream job.

Mocktail
Spring has sprung and the weather is warming. Our Llama Palama mocktail is a tasty, green tea-based drink that will ease your transition from the winter chill into a light, breezy mindset. Between the mint leaves and lime juice, you’re in for a fresh flavor with an exciting tart.
Ingredients
- 2 oz. Water
- 1 oz. Simple syrup
- 1 oz. Fresh lime juice
- 3 oz. Green tea
- 5 Mint leaves
Preparation
- Combine simple syrup with all other ingredients, except the tonic, in a shaker and shake for 30 seconds to mix.
- Pour into ice filled glass and top with tonic water.
- Garnish with a lime wheel or a sprig of mint.
