Elderflower Old Fashioned

Elderflower Old Fashioned

Bourbon
An Old Fashioned cocktail in a textured glass, garnished with an orange peel and cherry, on a wooden surface.
The Elderflower Old Fashioned is a refined twist on a classic, balancing the warmth of bourbon with the delicate floral notes of elderflower liqueur. A touch of simple syrup softens the edges, while Angostura bitters add depth and complexity. Stirred to perfection and served over a large ice cube, this cocktail is finished with an aromatic orange peel and cherry garnish, enhancing both its fragrance and flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2.5 oz bourbon
  • 1 oz St. Germain or any elderflower liqueur
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup , optional
  • Dash of Angostura bitters
  • Garnish with orange peel and cherries

Preparation

  1. In a mixing glass, combine the bourbon, elderflower liqueur, dash of bitters and simple syrup (if using).
  2. Fill the glass with ice and stir well until chilled and well mixed.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
  4. Express the orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and gently twisting to release the oils, then drop it in as garnish.
