It’s Hard to be Honest

Secrets
It’s Hard to be Honest
It’s hard to be honest. Well, not in the truest sense of the word. But if you work in creative services or are an entrepreneuer—and especially if you are a woman—you know how important keeping up appearances is to your career. That’s what we’re talking about today.

In this inaugural episode, Jen and Karen discuss how hard honesty is to come by. Both Jen and Karen work in creative services, where image really matters. So they’ll unpack what it’s like to pretend you have it all together, even when you don’t. They’ll talk about the cost of faking it, and how important it is to take off the mask once in a while.

Being honest about how difficult it is, how you got disappointed or how you lost a client—that isn’t the norm. Somehow that honesty communicates weakness. The extent to faking it in the creative industry is so pervasive that sometimes business leaders don’t even know they are doing it.

And to get through this heavy topic they’ll be sharing a Rosemary Gin Fizz, which is absolutely delicious.
