Color: Why Hue Matters in Marketing, Design & Video

Creativity
Karen (left) and Jen (right) walk and talk on a sunny downtown sidewalk, both wearing sunglasses and summer tops, engaged in a casual, animated conversation.
In this deeply nerdy (but extremely useful) episode, we're diving into the power of color and how the tiniest color choices can make or break your brand’s impact. From branding to design to video, color affects how people feel, and therefore, how they engage. Join us as we share what we’ve learned to look for when trying to get color choices dialed in just right.

Color isn’t just a finishing touch — it’s a strategic tool that influences perception, emotion, and behavior. In marketing and branding, it’s one of the first things people notice and one of the most powerful ways to communicate without saying a word. But great color doesn’t happen by accident. It takes intention, skill, and an understanding of how color really works across mediums.

In this episode, we share real-life client stories, break down color theory, and explore how things like lighting, wardrobe, and even shadows can influence your final product. Whether you’re building a brand, producing content, or just trying to make your stuff look better, understanding color helps you get the most out of your creative investment.

Bicicletta

Bicicletta

Wine
Two short round glasses filled with a red cocktail, garnished with orange slices and served over ice, sit on a silver tray.
Light, bitter, and effortlessly Italian, the Bicicletta is a refreshing aperitivo that combines dry white wine, Campari, and a splash of club soda. The crisp acidity of wine balances beautifully with Campari’s bold bitterness, while bubbly soda keeps things light and sessionable. Garnished with orange wheels, it’s a vibrant, citrusy sipper that’s perfect for patio evenings, brunches, or pretending you're in a piazza somewhere in Milan.

Ingredients

  • 3 oz dry white wine
  • 2 oz Campari
  • Chilled Club soda, to top
  • Garnish: 2 orange wheels

Preparation

  1. Add the white wine and Campari into a double rocks glass or a wine glass.
  2. Fill the glass three-quarters with ice, top with club soda, and stir gently and briefly to combine.
  3. Garnish with 2 orange wheels.
