Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz cane sugar syrup
  • Red wine float
  • Salt for rim
  • Lime wheel for garnish

Preparation

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of a glass and dip it into salt to coat the rim. Set aside.
  2. In a shaker, combine 2 oz of tequila, 1 oz of lime juice, and 1 oz of cane sugar syrup. Add ice and shake well until chilled.
  3. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass, either over ice or neat, depending on your preference.
  4. Carefully pour red wine over the back of a spoon so it floats on top of the margarita.
  5. Add a lime wheel for garnish.
