Boat House Punch

Gin
Drink: Boat House Punch

The magic of the Boat House Punch happens when you go with the flow and give its ingredients time to mingle into the perfect party cocktail. This cocktail balances the richness of the lemon sugar with gin, Aperol, St. Germain, and effervescent rose. From there, a combination of citrus juices keep the cocktail tangy and sweet without being too much of a knockout.

Ingredients

  • 1 liter dry gin
  • 750 mL Aperol
  • 750 mL sparkling rosé
  • 12 oz St. Germain
  • 12 oz grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed
  • 12 oz lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 12 oz orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 cup superfine sugar
  • 4 lemons, peeled
  • Garnish: orange wheels

Preparation

  1. Muddle the lemon peels (save lemons for juicing) with the sugar in a bowl until the sugar looks slightly moistened.
  2. Cover and let sit overnight (or for at least one hour), so the lemon oils can absorb into the sugar.
  3. Add the gin, Aperol, St. Germain, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and orange juice to a large pitcher.
  4. Add the lemon-sugar mixture, and let sit for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove the lemon peels, drop in a large ice block, and add the sparkling rosé.
  6. Use orange wheels to garnish the pitcher and individual cups.
