Get Selective With Your Social Media Strategy

Creativity
Jen and Karen sit at a bar.
We have bad news about your social media strategy. Actually, let's call it industry reality: most of us are collecting social media accounts like clothes we never wear. You know the drill — maintaining profiles on platforms that don't serve your goals while chasing every new app that promises to change everything. In this episode, we challenge the "be everywhere" mentality and explore how to build a social media strategy that actually works for your business goals instead of against them.

Sometimes the best lessons come from losing something you thought you needed. When Karen lost her Facebook page and realized it wasn't the end of the world, it sparked a bigger conversation about how we approach social media strategy. The truth is, most of us are maintaining profiles on platforms that aren't moving the needle while scrambling to keep up with whatever trendy app just launched.

In this episode, we get real about multi-channel social media strategy and why quality beats quantity every single time. We explore why different audiences live on different platforms, and why expecting one channel to do everything for everyone is a recipe for mediocre results. This isn't about abandoning social media — it's about using it strategically, focusing your energy where it actually matters, and showing up consistently in the places where your audience is already paying attention. Sometimes letting go is the most strategic move you can make.

Spiced Pear Gin Mule

Spiced Pear Gin Mule

Gin
A moscow mule mug holds the Spiced Pear Gin Mule with a pear garnish.
The Spiced Pear Gin Mule is autumn comfort reimagined as a sophisticated cocktail. Built around a homemade spiced pear simple syrup infused with star anise, cinnamon, and cardamom, this isn't your typical mule. Gin provides a clean, botanical foundation while fresh lemon juice cuts through the sweetness and keeps everything balanced. Ginger beer adds that signature spicy fizz, but here it complements rather than dominates. Garnished with a pear wedge and star anise, it's proof that the best seasonal cocktails don't just taste like fall — they capture the feeling of it.

Ingredients

  • Spiced Pear Simple Syrup
    • 1 cup pear juice
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 3 star anise
    • 2 cinnamon sticks
    • 2 whole cardamom pods

  • Cocktail
    • 4 oz. gin
    • 4 oz. spiced pear simple syrup
    • 2 oz. fresh lemon juice
