Building Strong Relationships In Business and Beyond — Featuring Guest Barb Byrum

Barb Byrum — Ingham County Clerk and our latest guest — has been fighting for the residents of Michigan as long as we can remember. From defending the word "vagina," to performing Michigan’s first same-sex marriage, to protecting our voting rights, this woman means business. Today we talk relationships, in all of their forms: the ones that got us this far, the ones we have to work on, and the ones we still need to find.

This week, we're welcoming a friend, advocate, and fierce feminist to our show: Barb Byrum, Ingham County Clerk. Barb has worked as state representative for the 67th District and is now serving as the Ingham County Clerk. Barb is also a champion for advocacy, and officiated the first same-sex marriage in the state of Michigan While we’ve known Barb for years through our children all attending the same school, she's never ceased to amaze us with her hard work and dedication to social change, all while maintaining her family and relationships.

That’s why Barb was the perfect guest to chat relationships on the podcast. Both in business and in our personal lives, relationships aren't always easy to maintain — especially when you have different world views, goals, or ideas. Barb breaks down the nitty gritty of starting new relationships and maintaining old ones amidst a never-ending workload and advocacy. This episode, hard truths are good truths.
